Nordic Walking in Wengen

Nordic Walking is the ideal training for the whole body and a way for people of all ages to discover the Jungfrau Region in a sporty and exciting manner.
In Wengen there are three specially-marked trails that will get beginners hooked, and inspire experienced walkers. Experience the fascination of the views and follow the routes with the brown signposts.

Easy trail, ideal for beginners, with wonderful views of the mountains and Lauterbrunnen Valley. The trail can also be walked in winter. Total ascent: 140mHighest Point: 1286 above sea level
9.3 km (red) Sportive
Wengen village – Leiterhorn – Äussere Allmend – Steinenwaldweg direction Allmend – Wengen village
The route leads slightly downhill from the village centre, along the Wengwald road and then up to the 'Leiterhorn' vantage point. Spectacular views of the rear of the Lauterbrunnen Valley open up from the high-Alpine path above Wengen. The trail then descends gently back to the traffic-free holiday village of Wengen.Total ascent: 366m

29.2 km (black) Highlight
Wengen open-air swimming pool Allmend – Mettlenalp – Moränenroad – Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen – Höhenweg – Start Lauberhorn downhill – Allmend – Wengen village
The route first leads up past the open-air swimming pool and is then packed with highlights. Following the secomd half of the Jungfrau Marathon route, you walk up a forest road and cross the Haneggschuss section of the famous Lauberhorn Downhill Ski Race. Then follows a steep path up the moriane of the Guggi Glacier. At the top you follow a level section towards Fallboden and then walk down to Kleine Schedegg railway station. With birdsong in your ears, you then take a slightly uphill section to reach the Männlichen mountain restaurant. On your way back along the panorama path, you climb up to the start of the International Lauberhorn Downhill Ski Race and then trace the tracks of the World Cup skiers past the Hundschopf jump to Wengeneralp and back to the holiday village of Wengen.Total ascent: 1586m
